  PSac, I'm very much an atheist, but in my writings I wish to come across as reasonable as possible so as not to offend.

  I don't doubt whether God exists or not, but rather I think the question of god is irrelevant to daily living, since there is no evidence that any god exists. However, since people keep on insisting that I believe in a god, I have written about it.

  The fact that I am open to accepting that a god might exist does not make me agnostic. It just means that I am living up to what I preach - evidence based existentialism.

  i would appreciate your help trying to explain to a jw, how someone could just read a bible on their own and understand what it is all about.

  without an organization.. also, how could nonchristians or pagans etc find out about christ without someone to teach them?

  after 45 years of using the bible, it is easy for me to say to jesus question "who will you go away to?

  Clarity,

  If you're a former JW you were fooled once. How do you know that the writers of the Bible were not as wacky as CTR, da judge, or Freddy? May I suggest you do some research into the origins of both the OT and the NT before you decide to spread the good book to others? Also, do research about why non-believers have chosen such a path.

  In fact, I think many of the eastern religions are superior to Christianity.

  May I suggest that you read the books written by Buddha before you try preaching to Buddhists, for example?

  Clarity, to be clear, I've read the Bible so many times I now believe its all bullshit. So I really am not going to go any farther offering interpretations since I think its just a fairy tale.

  So I don't think that stones will cry out. Nor do I think that non-christians will benefit by becoming christian.

  someone started a thread asking everyone's favorite xmas movies.. how about favorite xmas music/songs?

  even when i was an active jw i had a soft spot for certain xmas music.

  the standards, the jazzy ones, the rocknroll ones.. while i like a lot of different ones...i even collected my favs onto a playlist that i keep for this time of year...there are a few that really stand out as my favs.
